Self Acceptance and Society/Fat Acceptance
Self acceptance is loving and appreciating yourself even if there are things you'd eventually like to change. Fat acceptance or society acceptance is getting society as a whole to accept that we have the same rights has everyone else and to reduce prejudice within the community.

Beach Ready ....
Ekkk. Summer is just around the corner, and you know what that means! Yes, shorts, singlets, swimwear, bare arms, bare legs, the works. No wonder it strikes fear into the hearts of women everywhere. On one hand you’re probably glad to see the end of the colder weather, but on the other hand, it’s a yearly confrontation with your body. Don’t worry though – it’s not just us curvy women that suffer from seasonal panic – just pick up any women’s magazine and you’ll see that even the stick-thin girls are all in a tizzy about exactly how to be “beach ready”.
So, here are some great tips that you can use, regardless of size. Firstly – take out all of your summer clothes from storage. Put away the big winter jackets and cover-up-everything clothes. Now, after you’ve eaten a good breakfast try on all of your summer clothes. Anything that doesn’t fit you need to get rid of immediately. Eating a breakfast will mean you’re not trying on clothes at your “skinniest” which is before food, after a night of sleep and a pee. Don’t laugh; we’ve all tried that trick to squeeze into an outfit. If money is an issue consider eBaying the clothes that don’t fit, or holding a garage sale.
You might even try a clothes swap with another woman, or a group of women. Throw an afternoon party where everyone arrives with all of their ill-fitting clothes and sort them by size or style. Then it’s a free-for-all when you all dive it to try on other clothes and take what does fit. Give the leftovers to charity.
If you find that after throwing away, or swapping, your clothes you are left with no real summer wear don’t despair. Fashions have come along way since the humiliating days of childhood. Swimwear can be made to hold large breasts, hold in stomachs and cover bottoms easily these days. You may need to order from the internet if your town doesn’t stock anything plus size, but you must make the effort to buy clothes that fit. Otherwise you won’t ever feel comfortable.
Once your new clothing has arrived the final step in getting beach ready is to have your hair cut and coloured – going a lighter colour or a shorter style for summer can make you feel fabulous. Book your self a mani-pedi too for the same reason. And buy some exfoliating scrub and really scrub yourself to get rid of flaky winter skin. Shave your legs and underarms, apply a bit of “summer glow” moisturizer and away you go – you’ll look amazing.

|"For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;|
The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape, give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away."
