Aah, the beginning of a new year. Don’t we all just love to sit and dwell on what our New Year’s resolution is going to be? Lose weight, find romance, lose weight, make more money…lose weight. Why not enhance our minds a little this month with some mostly useless, a few interesting and just a couple factual tidbits? Enjoy yourselves and Happy New Year!!!
- January 2nd – Run up to the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes Day
- January 3rd – Fruitcake Toss Day
- January 5th – First Woman ever Inaugurated as Governor (Nellie Ross, 1925, Wyoming)
- January 8th – Bubble Bath Day
- January 10th – Peculiar People Day
- January 14th – National Dress Up Your Pet Day
- January 15th – First Super Bowl ever played (1967)
- January 16th – National Nothing Day
- January 19th – National Popcorn Day
- January 20th – First African-American President Inaugurated in US History (Barack Obama, 2009)
- January 21st – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday
- January 23rd – Measure Your Feet Day
- January 29th – National Puzzle Day
- January 31st – National Backwards Day
(January also has some month long observances such as Eye Care Month, National Blood Donor Month, National Braille Literacy Month, National Thank You Month and of course we have the big “O”, what we’re all waiting for…….. yes ladies and gentlemen - January is the National Month for Oatmeal!!!)

We are recruiting for an Arts/Entertainment Editor. If you love love art, movies, tv, music, etc. and have a few hours a month to spare this could be a great position for you. Our Arts/Entertainment editor would provide content on a monthly basis for the Arts/Entertainment section of the magazine, including but not exclusive to, movies, television shows/specials, music, art, video games, etc. Our previous editor interviewed Eddie Money and Ray Stevens.
