SSBBW / FA Quote of the Moment

"Why do I like BBW's/SSBBW's? Being a BHM, i understand the ridicule that they have gone through in their lifetime. I also believe that they are far more superior to the "Barbie" types. They have better personalities, better senses of humor, know what they want, have a better sense of direction, are more confident, are not afraid of anything anymore, and the biggest thing, they are a hell of a lot more sexy. I only date BBW's and SSBBW's. There is nothing better than the love of a BBW/SSBBW." ~ Tim [FA]

March 2007 - Our first FA was Mike from Maryland

Each issue we will introduce you to an FA. Our first FA is Mike, a 49 year old male from Maryland.

SSBBW Magazine: How long have you been an FA?

FA: Hmmm...I suppose since puberty or even before. I can't think of any experience that "turned" me, so perhaps its genetic. I know it wasn't say..Wow..I love ssBBW's More like...attraction to pudgy, then chubby then voluptuous then OMG! I think as a younger person you are being bombarded with societies ideals of beauty and that can sometimes conflict until you begin to follow your own will and thoughts.

SSBBW Magazine: Have you always been open with family/friends about being attracted to large women or did you try to hide it?

FA: Not always open, fact I was totally in the wasn't until I got into the internet in the 90's that I became even aware of what FA'ism was and that women I preferred were actually a "Type" (BBW)...I can see and perhaps understand how Gays must feel..that naughty little secret that everyone seems to disaprove of but feels so damn good that it can't be wrong..perhaps that's just me though.

SSBBW Magazine: What attracts you to ssbbw?

FA: It's a woman but bigger!...I joke...(sort of)...its how everything about her is MORE..softer...warmer...Pillowy...Something to hold onto...and a living breathing sweet wonderful human being inside...its amazing how good someone can feel.

SSBBW Magazine: What is your ideal woman?

FA: Someone of above average intelligence and has confidence in herself...not too meek but not aggressive either......Physically?...I like curvy...but I am a big fan of tummy, butt and thick legs...not much of a breast man...two are nice...size isn't an issue.

SSBBW Magazine: What are the joys of being with an ssbbw?

FA: Don't know how graphic you want this...making love with an ssBBW is more comforting...more satisfying...because its simply more intimate ...I am feeling totally enveloped in soft warmth...because we are making contact more...I feel her all over my front and sink in a bit...every fold and roll lieing on a big soft waterbed...thats nice.

SSBBW Magazine: What are the drawbacks?

FA: Having to endure the thoughtlessness of others who may want to make rude comments or jokes..and having to 'fit' in a world designed for smaller folk (restauraunt booths and movie seating can make for some awkward moments).

SSBBW Magazine: What is it like being an FA in today's society?

FA: Actually..the more I affiliate with BBW groups and forums the more 'normal' I feel...among friends...and with people that understand...makes life a lot easier when you don't feel alone.

SSBBW Magazine: If your woman wanted to have weight loss surgery would you support her? Stay with her?

FA: I would respect her decision..but I think she would see it was upsetting to me...a medical necessity is one thing...but an option or "just because" wouldn't be a good reason...I know that's selfish but if she wanted to feel 'beautiful' I know I could make her feel that her current size. (Honest, if politically incorrect answer).

SSBBW Magazine: If your woman was unable to leave the house or needed constant care and help because of her size, would you be there for her?

FA: I think that's part of the pact...if he wants her to maintain that size...then assisting her and tending to her is part of the bargain...and it can be fun...its nice to bathe your woman...make it part of sensual play.

SSBBW Magazine: Is there such a thing too big?

FA: If so..I haven't been there yet.

SSBBW Magazine: What would you like to say to all the SSBBWs reading this?

FA: Stay with the community because this is our best chance of meeting each other..and there ARE men that desire you...I think you know that...and if you believe...its gonna happen.

SSBBW Magazine: What would you like to say to all the FAs reading this?

FA: Be bold but tasteful...make sure you tell her you adore her...not just her size...but make sure she knows that size is part of your desire and show your ecstacy when making love...don't hide your feelings...enjoy her so she knows how beautiful you think she is.

SSBBW Magazine: What would you like to say to those just reading this out of curiosity about the SSBBW / FA community?

FA: This isn't for everyone its true...either you 'feel it' or you don't...but all women have SOMETHING about them that make them unique and loveable...if you happen to feel the attraction..don't deny yourself a chance of finding something wonderful.

Diets Are Amusing...

Isn't that what everyone seems to think? What could be funnier than the sight of a fat person eating salad, or a fat lady, her face full of trepidation, stepping on a scale?

I'm not an "SSBHM", but I've never been skinny, and fought my weight all my life. I finally found a way to express the injustice of social attitudes towards someone who's trying to lose weight. I recently shared it with a coworker the other day, and I could see the light sawn in his eyes as it hit him in a whole new way. When the subject comes up, I encourage you all to express it like this.

Very few people think that there's anything funny or trivial about kicking alcohol, or smoking. Most understand that it is a grueling undertaking, a marathon of self denial, a constant physical, social, and mental battle of attrition. Those who are former smokers or recovering alcoholics shudder to think of how hard it was to put it down, even years after the fact.

Now imagine this, all of you regular sized folks out there. Imagine that you HAD to have 3 cigarettes or 3 drinks a day to LIVE. To continue to exist. And never GOOD cigs or drinks, never really what you wanted. And never as MUCH as you wanted, either. Never enough to perk you up, give you a buzz, get you drunk, whatever it is you wanted to get out of it. Just enough to live...

3 cigs a day, and 3 drinks a day. The crap, the cheap stuff, the stuff that was terrible, and not even as much as you wanted of that. And you couldn't walk away from it, you literally couldn't find a place where it wasn't available. Every place of commerce, everywhere you went to work or play or shop, on the TV, in your books and magazines, EVERYWHERE.

Tell me then, all of you from Alcoholics Anonymous, how many of you would be collecting 30 year or even 30 day pins if you NEEDED to drink to live? All of you former smokers, revelling in the clarity of your breath, how many weeks or days would you have lasted while the nicotine was calling to you?

Think of it that way thin people, especially those of you who've had to tear a monkey from your own back. Dieters and fat people face that EVERY DAY OF THEIR LIVES. Tell me now, how funny is it now, that sight of a fat guy sighing over a candy bar, or a fat woman dreading the scale?
